The mounting base of the monitor arm is a critical part, which is the connection part for the monitor arm to be installed on the desk. It should be stable, safe, and easy to assemble.
There are usually two types of bases for monitor arms, one is the downward rotation type, and the other is the top mounting/ tightening base.

We are pleased that most of our products use top tightening mounts like M9, G7, S1, and M10 series monitor arms.
Here we could look at the advantages of the top tightening base.
1. Quick to install.
Our own top tightening base is pre-assembled, so end users could take it out from the package box and install it on the desk directly. While other regular downward tightening base is usually separated packed in the box, and it will take some time for the end users to assemble it first.
2. Easy and simple to secure.
Our own top tightening base is more convenient and easy to operate, as end-users could tighten the base from the top, no need to bend over their knees. All of the installation processes could be done on the top of the desktop, which is more friendly to the end-users.
3. More elegant and neat looking.
The top tightening base is more elegant looking when you are looking from the bottom. Because of the simple structure of top tightening base, it looks neat from the bottom, just a plain clamp board. While we will see multiple bracket parts on other regular monitor arm bases.
4. Clamp and grommet two-in-one design.

Our clamp for single arm may also be fitted into the cable guide hole. As a two-in-one design (clamp and grommet), it effectively reduces materials and is more environmentally friendly.
Here are other notes we should pay attention to on the top tightening clamp base.
- We should tighten the base as much as possible to secure it, just in case it was unstable when the heavier monitor is mounted.
- If the base is clamped on the desk, we should not turn the arm to the back of the desktop top just in case it fell down.
